Cylindrical Quartz Electrochemical Cell (Hermetically Sealed, Side Illumination) – Model: C018-2
The C018-2 Hermetically Sealed Side-Illumination Quartz Electrochemical Cell is designed for advanced photoelectrochemical and spectroelectrochemical research requiring complete atmospheric isolation and optical access to the electrode surface. The side-illumination configuration enables efficient irradiation of the working electrode, making the cell ideal for photocatalysis, photoelectrochemical water splitting, CO₂ reduction, semiconductor characterization, solar fuel generation, UV-Vis spectroelectrochemistry, and other light-assisted electrochemical investigations.
Constructed entirely from fused quartz without adhesives, the cell provides exceptional chemical resistance and optical transparency with greater than 95% light transmission. The hermetically sealed electrode insertion system allows electrode installation and replacement while maintaining a gas-tight environment, making it suitable for oxygen- and moisture-sensitive experiments. The cell supports a variety of working electrodes including glassy carbon, gold, platinum, and custom electrode holders, while platinum counter electrodes and Ag/AgCl reference electrodes can be integrated as required. Optional gas inlet and outlet valves enable nitrogen purging, deoxygenation, controlled-atmosphere studies, and vacuum operation. Available in volumes from 50 mL to 500 mL, the C018-2 is an ideal platform for high-precision electrochemical and photoelectrochemical experiments where environmental control and optical accessibility are critical.
